Strategic Plan Strategic Plan - Revised April 2007 August 2008 Dear Friends and Colleagues, The 2008-2009 school year marks the third year for Red Clay’s Strategic Plan. The plan was originally adopted by the Board in March 2006 to establish a foundation for all district activity. Since the implementation, the plan has helped the district set realistic goals and performance objectives that advance our mission. School and district improvement plans continue to show progress on a number of metrics (data driven decision making). For example, the 2008 school ratings indicate that 17 Red Clay schools earned a Superior or Commendable rating while other schools showed progress towards meeting AYP (Annual Yearly Progress) goals. School MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) results for the 2007-2008 school year provide evidence that the district met fall to spring growth targets in 72% of the areas tested (assessment of and for learning). The success of these improvement efforts is due in large part to the collaborative work of many stakeholders who share in both leadership and evaluation roles (distributive leadership). Principals, teachers, and support staff continue to demonstrate a commitment to providing all students with a first class educational experience regardless of individual learning styles or educational needs (differentiated instruction). The district has also improved in operational areas. Business Office processes and procedures have been redesigned and new financial reports have been developed for internal use as well as for community review. In closing, Red Clay’s Strategic Plan serves to guide continuous improvement and maximize performance in all areas of district operations. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our staff, parents, and community, Red Clay’s future is bright. Working together, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of the students we serve. Sincerely, Robert J. Andrzejewski, Ed.D. |
