Superintendent Dr. Robert J. Andrzejewski Red Clay Consolidated School District Superintendent Dr. Robert J. Andrzejewski (Dr. A), a Delaware native, holds three degrees, all from the University of Delaware: Ed. Prior to assuming his current role as Superintendent, Dr. A served the district as a special education teacher, educational diagnostician, student advisor, assistant principal at the middle and high school levels, principal at the elementary and middle school levels, and as Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services. Dr. A throughout his career has served on a wide range of district and state committees, task forces, and boards, including the Governor’s Education Technology Committee, the Department of Education’s Strategic Planning Committee, the Student Assessment Task Force, the Quality Schools Committee, the Delaware Association of School Leadership Advisory Board, Wilmington University’s Doctoral Advisory Board, the Cities in Schools Board, the Data Service Center Board of Directors, the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association Board and the Innovative Schools Development Corporation Board of Directors. In 2004, Dr. A was named the Superintendent of the Year for the State of Delaware, and he was presented with the University of Delaware’s Outstanding Alumni Award. He also received the Betty Scharaff Award from the HOSTS Learning Corporation for his support of student mentoring programs. He is also a member of the Superintendent’s Institute of America, a group of superintendents from across the country who strive to implement research-based best practice in schools at both the administrative and teaching levels. Dr. A's commitment to supporting public education is one of his most passionate career pursuits. His willingness to challenge the status quo and implement creative educational programs for students, parents, and staff have marked his tenure as Superintendent in Red Clay.
